Markets We Serve
Jewett Automation is a systems integrator specializing in the Design and development of automated manufacturing and assembly systems. Our experience ranges from indexing cam-driven assembly systems, to robotics and Vision, to high speed continuous motion. We are committed to providing a high level of personal attention to every one of our customers. Do not think of Jewett Automation as your Automation Equipment Supplier, we are your automation partner.
Our Capabilities
Jewett Automation is highly vertically integrated and boasts a number of core competencies as a result. For example, Jewett’s electrical engineers write all our clients’ control software, including what is needed for robotics and vision applications. We also handle our own vision, robotics, and electrical construction, including panel fabrication and field wiring, and provide you with full layouts.
We also work in a variety of design platforms including SolidWorks™, Inventor™, and AutoCAD® software. Our own in-house machine shop even makes the parts. As a result, in most cases we do not have to go outside to complete the majority of the work your project may require, thus saving time and money.
For example, our capabilities include but are by no means limited to:
Liquid Dispensing
Jewett Automation has extensive experience in the design and development of automation equipment that dispenses liquids as part of a process. As a result of the knowledge we have acquired, we are able to select the optimum methodology for a particular application.
MoreHeat Sealing
If the need for heat sealing is a requirement, we also have a host of methods to employ. Depending on the purpose and the materials involved, we might select induction sealing, impulse sealing, continuous heat, friction welding, hot plate welding, or any number of techniques. In the case of impulse sealing, for example, the heating cycle is synchronized with the rhythm of the machine.
MorePrinting and Labeling
Jewett Automation is highly vertically integrated and boasts a number of core competencies as a result. For example, Jewett’s electrical engineers write all our clients’ control software, including what is needed for robotics and vision applications. This means you as our customer can receive fast, responsive service for changes required as your needs evolve.
MoreVision
It goes without saying that you want to be sure the parts and components your production systems produce are the highest quality possible and have been assembled correctly. That is why we use advanced vision tools with high-speed image acquisition and processing to design and build visual inspection systems that scrutinize products. The result is that defects and fabrication errors are instantly detected.
MoreLean Assembly
The lean production system pioneered by Toyota has become standard operating procedure for much of the automotive industry and has been incorporated into many others. We are adept at building automation systems to fit seamlessly into such continuous flow environments and understand the need for production lines to be balanced.
MoreFunctional Testing
Many of our customers use the functional testing systems we design and build to test their products and equipment. They want to confirm a product performs as intended. Often, our automated production systems have functional testing systems built into them at strategic points in the process.
MorePoka-Yoke
Poka-yoke, or mistake proofing, is top of mind throughout our development process. It just makes sense to eliminate errors before they occur by designing equipment and assemblies so that it’s impossible for mistakes to happen.
MoreWhy Jewett Automation
Jewett is a factory automation company and systems integrator that stands above the rest when it comes to solving non-standard automation equipment challenges. This may be why Jewett has become known for the ability to deliver custom automation solutions. To do so, we draw upon a host of techniques and core competencies, from indexing cam-driven assembly systems, to robotics, vision, high speed continuous motion, and other techniques to arrive at the best and most economical end result.
