Accumulators

Jewett provides a wide variety of web accumulators to handle your process needs. We custom design each system to meet your storage, speed, tension, and space requirements.  Most of our accumulator systems are built for wide web with linear rail supported carriages and variable speed driven ball screw, there are a variety of designs Based on your needs. Jewett also provides narrow web cantilevered accumulators with a single or multiple carriage to maximize storage.   These Systems are ideal for retrofits and large process lines where floor space is at a premium. Our accumulators feature straight through web threading and auto threading chains to assist with machine webbing.

Pull Stands

Jewett’s pull stands are designed to reliably convey your material through each process of the system.  Feed sections or pull rolls are used throughout most web converting lines to providing tension control, and isolation between processes.  There are a wide range of pull stands, selected based on your specific process needs.  In applications where there is no concern of touching the processed side of the product, Nipped, S-wrap are commonly utilized for feeding an isolate tension.  Pull rolls can be provided provided with coatings like plasma, rubber, or other special traction coatings to improve the feed of your material.

Temperature Control Stands: Chill Roll / Pre-Heat Stations

Temperature Control stations such as cooling and heating stands are common requirements on many converting lines.  One of the most effective ways to heat or cool material is through direct contact with thermal transfer rollers. A chill roll primarily acts as a heat transfer and finishing device in the extrusion of flat sheet and cast film and in coating operations. For heating applications, Jewett utilizes a variety of techniques for increasing the temperature of the material, including hot water or oil, steam and electrically heated rollers and more advanced methods like IR heaters. All heating and cooling sections are sized to achieve the optimal heat transfer requirements for your product. Jewett’s engineers preform all calculations necessary to properly size the process rollers and design type’s selection such as can, single spiral, or dual spiral and also the temperature control units used to supply the thermal fluid.  These sections are tension controlled through a variable frequency drive by feedback from a load cell roller.

Turn Bars

Jewett offers custom designed air float bars and roller Turning bars designs to meet our customer’s web turning and inverting needs from narrow web to wide web applications.  Our air floatation style turn bar assemblies can be provided with integral tension, pressure and guiding controls.  We evaluate your materials and tensions in order to appropriately size the air bars and the corresponding variable speed blower.  As the substrate floats over the turn bars, some degree of web wander can be anticipated to counter this we can supply our turn bars with an integral web guide system. Turning Bars fit above or below other equipment, eliminating need for bigger equipment footprint. Multiple styles and configurations, including, Rolling or Air, low-inertia and low-tension models, are available. Components are custom sized to meet your needs. Air turn bars can be built to accommodate any speed range.
